Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) sets the terms for acceptable use of the services (“Services”) and access to www.hackerverse.com (“Website”) by you (“Users”). This Policy applies to all Users and visitors of the Website.

User’s access and/or use of the Website and the Services means that the User accepts and agrees to abide by all terms of this Policy, which supplement and form a part of our Terms of the Website.

If you violate the Policy or authorize or help others to do so, EC-Council may suspend or terminate your use of the Services immediately without notice.

User shall only use the Website and the Services for lawful purposes and must not:

Bullet Violate any applicable local, national, or international laws or regulations. Engage in any illegal, fraudulent, or unethical activities, including violations of laws related to export controls, sanctions, data protection, intellectual property, anti-corruption, fair competition, taxation, or involvement in criminal acts such as fraud, theft, illegal gambling, drug trafficking, arms proliferation, child exploitation, or terrorism funding.

Bullet Harm or attempt to harm minors in any way.

Bullet Intentionally transmit or upload harmful programs, malicious code, or any data designed to damage, disrupt, or interfere with the operation of software or hardware, or take actions that harm, disable, overburden, impair the Services, or interfere with others’ use and enjoyment of the Services.

Bullet Use the Services if under 18 years of age unless they have obtained written consent from a parent or legal guardian.

Bullet Reproduce, duplicate, copy, re-sell, decipher, decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, or otherwise attempt to derive source code or underlying ideas or algorithms of any part of the Services, or to build, provide, or assist in creating a competitive product or service substantially similar to the Services, for benchmarking or competitive purposes, or to create derivative works based on the Services without our prior written authorization.

Bullet Use the Services to post or transmit any abusive, deceptive, pornographic, obscene, defamatory, slanderous, offensive, hateful, inflammatory, sexually explicit, discriminatory, misleading, or deceptive or otherwise inappropriate content. Additionally, User may not promote violence, illegal activities, or harassment, infringe upon intellectual property rights, breach legal duties, impersonate others, or misrepresent your identity. Users are also prohibited from impersonating any person or entity or misrepresenting their affiliation with any individual or organization.

Users are prohibited from violating the security of the Services and/or Website or any third-party systems. Such violations could lead to criminal or civil liability. We reserve the right, but are not obligated, to investigate any suspected security breaches and may work with law enforcement if there is any indication of criminal or unauthorized activity. By using the Services and/or Website or transmitting, receiving, posting, accessing, or storing any electronic communications through the Services and /or Website, User agrees to cooperate fully in any resulting investigations.

Do not Engage in any illegal, fraudulent, or unethical activities, including violations of laws related to export controls, sanctions, data protection, intellectual property, anti-corruption, fair competition, taxation, or involvement in criminal acts such as fraud, theft, illegal gambling, drug trafficking, arms proliferation, child exploitation, or terrorism funding.

Bullet Collaborating on challenges in a fair and ethical manner.

Bullet Sharing knowledge and resources that enhance learning and development in cybersecurity.

Acceptable Use of Interactive Services

User must adhere to the following guidelines while using interactive services:

Bullet Respectful Communication: Maintain professional and respectful interactions with all participants, mentors, and organizers. Avoid using offensive, discriminatory, or inflammatory language.

Bullet Relevant Content: Ensure all posted content is related to the competition and contributes constructively to discussions or challenges.

Bullet No Unauthorized Sharing: Do not share answers, exploits, or solutions outside the competition platform or with unauthorized individuals.

Bullet Privacy Compliance: Refrain from sharing personal information, including names, addresses, or contact details, without the explicit consent of the individual concerned.

EC-Council is not responsible for any material or information, other than that provided by us, which is created, stored, maintained, transmitted, or accessible through the Services and/or the Website. EC-Council is not obligated to monitor or exercise editorial control over such material.

Although we are not required to conduct investigations, we may:

Bullet Investigate potential violations of this Acceptable Use Policy or misuse;

Bullet Investigate and take steps to prevent security threats, fraud, or other illegal, malicious, or inappropriate activities;

Bullet Remove, disable access to, or modify any material or resource that we believe violates this Policy.

Bullet Suspend or terminate the provision of Services to any User who violates this Policy.

EC-Council may report any activity that appears to violate applicable laws to the appropriate law enforcement agencies, regulators, or other third parties. This may involve disclosing relevant User information. Additionally, we may cooperate with law enforcement agencies or regulators to assist with the investigation and prosecution of illegal conduct by providing network and system information related to alleged Policy violations. Nothing in this Policy limits our rights and remedies available under the law.

Users may register an alias; however, they must ensure that their chosen alias does not contain any derogatory, offensive, discriminatory, racist, or otherwise inappropriate language. This includes, but is not limited to, names that promote hate, violence, or any form of illegal activity.

We reserve the right to review and reject any alias that violates these guidelines. Users may be asked to change their alias, and failure to comply may result in the suspension of their account or services.

We may revise this Acceptable Use Policy at any time by amending this page. You are expected to check this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time to take note of any changes we make, as they will be legally binding on you. If a User objects to any such changes, Users’ sole recourse shall be to cease using the Services. Continued use of the Services following notice of any such changes shall indicate Users’ acknowledgement of such changes and agreement to be bound by the terms and conditions of such changes Some of the provisions contained in this Acceptable Use Policy may also be superseded by provisions or notices published elsewhere on our site.
